Manchester City verlängert mit Erfolgsgarant Ruben Dias

Der englische Meister Manchester City hat am Montag den Vertrag mit Verteidiger Ruben Dias um ein weiteres Jahr bis Sommer 2027 verlängert. Damit besitzt der Defensivmann zusammen mit Neuerwerbung Jack Grealish den Kontrakt mit der längsten Laufzeit bei den "Citizens".

Der Portugiese war im vergangenen Sommer für 68 Millionen Euro von Benfica Lissabon zu City gewechselt. Nach seiner ersten Saison in England wurde der 24-Jährige zu Europas Abwehrspieler des Jahres gewählt. Auch die Premier League zeichnete Dias als Fußballer des Jahres aus.

He was named the FWA Footballer of the Year, City's Player of the Season and the Premier League Player of the Season.
